Good morning, Flippers!

Our weekly newsletter is your ticket to uncovering awesome opportunities for automotive flipping across the country. From hidden gems to trending items, we've got the inside scoop on how to make money and how to have fun doing it. Let's make some serious dough together!

This week’s newsletter is short, but sweet - be sure to read it all!

Warning - some elbow grease may be required.

  • 1970 Ford F250 Camper Special - Bozeman, MT - $4,500

  • The seller describes this truck as having a “very straight” body, and a 390 engine with a 4-speed transmission in good running & driving condition. If this is the case, this is an absolute STEAL for this price.

  • Over two dozen 1970 model year F-250 examples have sold on Bring a Trailer to date, mostly selling for between a mere $10,000 to just shy of $60,000, depending on condition.

  • Fun fact - this F-250’s 390 cubic inch (6.4L) gasoline powered V8 produced 255hp and 376ft/lbs of torque, while achieving only 12mpg.

Few things in life are better than single-cab long-bed American trucks from the 70s…

  • 2007 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG - Boise, Idaho - $16,000

  • With 507hp and 465 ft-lb or torque, the E63 AMG will be nearly impossible to list for sale once you’ve driven it home.

  • Only a handful of E63 AMG sedans have been offered on Bring A Trailer, while the vast majority of W211 examples have been station wagons. The first sedan listing sold for $18,000 in 2018, while one sold for over $30,000 in late 2023.

  • Fun fact: With the electronic limiter removed, the E63 will manage 192mph in otherwise stock configuration.

  • 1985 Merecedes- Benz 300D Turbo - Cleveland, Ohio - $7,600

  • The paint looks spectacular, the interior looks flawless, the vacuum system works properly, all of the power windows function as they should, and the seller specifically mentions a lack of rust. The only concerning thing about this car is the TMU-status, but potential buyers will not be concerned when they remember that W123s last forever.

  • Over 100 turbocharged examples of the 300D have sold on Bring a Trailer over the last several years, most recently selling for between $6,700 for an ‘83 (TMU) and $26,250 for an ‘84 (94k miles).

  • Fun fact: When in perfect working condition, the W123 300D Turbo is the single greatest daily driver vehicle of all time (not a fact, just my opinion).

Smooth, efficient, and classy - There’s no better way to manage 30mpg around town…

Quote of the Day

“The public seems to have bought into this belief that life can, and should, be run without risk, that all accidents are avoidable, and that death is something that only happens to people who eat meat and smoke.”

Jeremy Clarkson, 2004
It wouldn’t be a Flip Forecast without something that you should probably consider holding on to…

Here’s a potential keeper:
  • A E39 BMW with a 4.0L V8 engine, a 6-speed transmission, an M-sport front bumper, and less than 100k original miles?

  • Offer the seller $10k and drive it until the wheels fall off!
